Engineering Manager | ComparaJá.pt – Lisbon (Hybrid) Job Summary We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to guide our development team in delivering high-quality software. You will own the delivery process end-to-end, ensuring that our products are built to modern development standards while fostering a culture of excellence and velocity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, experience in coaching and mentoring teams, and a passion for optimising processes to drive efficiency. This is an office role based in Alvalade, Lisbon with flexibility to work remotely. Key Responsibilities Own the delivery of high-quality software: Lead the technical direction of projects, ensuring that software is delivered on time, meets business requirements, and adheres to the highest standards of performance, security, and scalability. Optimise development processes: Continuously review and improve the development lifecycle to increase efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance productivity. Coach and mentor developers: Provide hands-on technical guidance, mentorship, and support to the development team. Foster professional growth and engineering excellence through regular feedback, training, and knowledge sharing. Ensure modern development standards: Promote and implement best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code reviews, and clean coding principles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to align technical decisions with business goals and ensure a shared vision across the product lifecycle. Technical leadership: Make critical decisions around architecture, tools, and frameworks, ensuring long-term scalability and maintainability of the codebase.
