Ensuring the team ships high-quality software predictably and sustainably; improving delivery flow, developer experience DevX, and engineering effectiveness. Building reliability and security into the teamʼs approach: observability, incident response, postmortems, and preventative improvements. Coaching and developing engineers through 11s, feedback, performance conversations, and career growth planning. Establishing practices and tools to encourage a strong engineering culture and maximise engineering effectiveness and impact. Helping with recruitment, particularly for more senior hires, and contributing to onboarding [What we are looking for] Experience working on reasonably large, high-availability software systems that have operated at scale Strong technical leadership and judgment beyond hands-on implementation: guiding architecture, raising engineering standards, and enabling teams to make good decisions. Proven people leadership experience: coaching engineers, giving actionable feedback, and helping individuals and teams grow. Strong sense of engineering excellence and craftsmanship; you understand software engineering is a team sport. Experience with modern full-stack web application technologies; experience in modern front-end engineering like Next.Js/React.js and Java/TypeScript on the backend is preferred. Ability to guide a team to achieve important goal together, communicate trade-offs clearly, and collaborate well across functions.
