What They're Looking For.
Must Have
6+ years of experience in a Software Engineering Leadership position, as a Senior Manager, or Manager of Managers, Track record of successfully leading people and teams to build scalable and reliable distributed including teams focused on Data and Infrastructure engineering, Demonstrated excellence in technical decision you know the right architecture and patterns to build functional, durable, and maintainable product, You know how to manage in multiple directions, including laterally and upward: you know how to advocate for yourself and your team: where to get into the weeds and where to delegate, You have successfully interviewed, hired, and mentored product focused engineering teams, You collaborate well with staffing partners and stakeholders through all phases of the hiring lifecycle and are a talent magnet, You’re a clear and concise you enjoy the challenge of explaining complicated ideas in simple terms, both in-person and in writing, You are based in (or willing to relocate to) one of the following areas: Denver, CO or San Francisco, CA

Support and enable core Platform and Infrastructure teams in planning

Full Job Description
THE ROLE At Candid Health, we're seeking an experienced Engineering Leader to support and enable our core Platform and Infrastructure teams in planning, executing, and delivering the Candid platform to our healthcare provider customers who rely on it for mission-critical financial and operational workflows. This hire will report directly to our Head of Engineering, Jason Rosenfeld https://www.linkedin.com/in/jason-rosenfeld-a76411a8/, and work closely with our Founders and Leadership team. Your scope of ownership will encompass Candid's scalability, reliability, application performance, data pipelines, developer experience, load testing, and AI tooling strategy. The teams rolling up to you are responsible for building and maintaining key infrastructure components of a complex and and evolving architecture - their mandate is to uphold best-in-class quality, durability, and performance standards for the Candid platform. You will be responsible for guiding and collaborating with skilled engineers and tech leads, fostering their growth and ensuring they contribute effectively. This role involves deeply cross-functional teamwork. Collaboration with company leadership, sales, and product teams will be crucial as you help define and execute our long-term product strategy. You will also partner closely with security, data privacy, and compliance teams to keep our customer data safe and secure, ensure disaster recovery scenarios, implement internal controls, etc. To start, you'll manage at least 3 distinct teams: 1. Production Infrastructure: run our compute, networking, observability, data storage, and auth infrastructure 2. Developer Infrastructure: in charge of internal tooling, dev productivity, AI tooling, testing infra, languages + libraries, and CI/CD systems 3. Data Engineering: own data streaming, eventing and pub/sub infra, data warehouse, and data reporting infra.
