Must Have

10+ years of experience in software engineering, at least 5+ years leading engineering teams, Deep familiarity with LLM application development: retrieval-augmented generation, agent architectures, structured outputs, and evaluation design, Experience building and scaling technical teams: hiring, developing, and retaining engineers across specializations, Exceptional communication able to translate complex technical work into clear language for both engineers and C-suite clients

Nice to Have

Prior experience building products for these legal, asset management, banking, or insurance., Familiarity with enterprise legal workflows: document review, contract analysis, compliance, M&A diligence, customer-facing contexts

As Director of Forward Deployed Engineering, you will own that program end-to-end: building the team, defining the operating model, and ensuring Harvey's top accounts feel like Harvey works exclusively for them. This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of engineering leadership, enterprise client strategy, and product influence. You'll lead a team of software engineers working directly with clients, while partnering closely with legal engineering, Sales, CS, and Product to shape what gets built and for whom.
