Full Job Description

 If you graduate between May-August 2026 with a Bachelor’s Degree in accordance with the requirements below, you can apply for this position. However, if offered the job, you must provide proof of your degree no later than your start date. TxDOT’s Austin District is looking for Engineering Assistants I, II or III in our Austin Metro Engineering Assistant Program . This program will assist in training in a rotation of areas and providing you with experience for your PE license. If you are a recent engineering graduate and are looking to build your skills, gain engineering experience, and grow your career then TxDOT is the place for you! This position reports to the Austin Area Offices and District Headquarters Offices comprised of a staff that includes licensed engineers, inspectors, designers, recordkeepers and engineering assistants. TxDOT offers outstanding training programs, opportunity for growth/advancement, work/life balance and supports engineering assistants through the licensing process with the Engineering Assistant Career Development Program.  All employees classified as Engineering Assistants are required to participate in the Engineering Assistant Career Development program. Participation in the Engineering Assistant Career Development Program (EACDP) requires that employees sign a Program Agreement, which outlines employee responsibilities and service time commitment.
