**[What the role is]** The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) champions the development of a future ready built environment for Singapore. Besides regulating building safety, we lead and transform the built environment sector in delivering a safe, high quality, sustainable and friendly built environment. We are looking for resourceful, energetic and self-motivated individuals who are inspired to play an active role to make a difference to Singapore’s built environment **[What you will be working on]** * You will be required to review design and conformance to safety standards of lift and escalators. * You will carry out in depth study, testing, verification and failure analysis on electronic hardware and software programmes in relation to lifts and escalators. * Additionally, you will be doing field inspection and investigation of incidents and provide technical support to your team. **[What we are looking for]** * Trained in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering from a university recognised by the Professional Engineers Board * Registered/attaining registration as a professional mechanical or electrical engineer with the Professional Engineers Board will be an advantage. * Experience in the design and/or maintenance of lifts and/or escalators or in a related field such as lifting equipment. * Good oral communication and report writing skills are essential Successful candidates will be offered contract employment.
