You must apply by 11:59 PM prior to the posted closing date. This position serves as a Traffic Analysis Engineer for the Traffic Analysis Section of the Traffic Survey Group (TSG). This position reports to the Traffic Analysis Supervisor and supports all Traffic Survey Group sections and staff as assigned. This position is responsible for performing engineering and technical tasks related to planning, processing, analyzing, and publishing generated traffic monitoring data to meet Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) reporting requirements and to support transportation planning activities of the NCDOT to maintain a Traffic Monitoring System. This position will assist with the development of new traffic monitoring practices to satisfy future FHWA traffic data requirements, a task for which engineering judgement is essential.
