What They're Looking For.
Must Have
BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical or a related engineering discipline, basic understanding of engineering design principles, verification processes, and risk assessment, knowledge of materials, including metals, elastomers, welding, and heat treatment processes, awareness of relevant industry standards and engineering codes, conscientious, adaptable, and eager to learn in a structured engineering environment, written and verbal communication skills, ability to work effectively within a team while responding professionally to changing work demands, familiarity with engineering design tools, calculation software, and PDM/document management systems
What You'll Do.
Support the creation of layouts
functional component specifications
and assembly procedures
Interpret customer engineering specifications to produce layout
Assist with the creation of work packs
reviewing detail drawings
and supporting small engineering teams under supervision
Develop conceptual design requirements and layouts following Design Process Management (DPM) protocols
and assembly drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards
Modify and create 3D models and drawings to manufacturing standards using parametric design practices
Support manufacturing through application of design-for-manufacture principles for machining
Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) within documentation systems for engineer approval
Participate in design verification activities
including tolerance studies
manufacturability reviews
and basic calculations
Support Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Prototype Verification Test (PVT) procedures and documenting results
Ensure design documentation and data are accurately archived in electronic document management systems
Identify opportunities to improve existing products
and procedures in a cost-effective manner
