What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, structural, chemical, environmental, mechanical, etc. ), landscape architecture, surveying, hydrology, environmental science, geology, or related field, Four years of professional pre-registration civil engineering experience or hydrology experience, Certification as an Engineer-in-Training, Four years of experience leading and performing senior-level technical engineering work, Combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
Nice to Have
Familiarity with FEMA Standards or the Floodplain Regulations for Maricopa County, Demonstrated experience in the use of GIS mapping and modeling software, Certified Floodplain Manager designation
What You'll Do.
Conduct pre-application meetings
Review construction plans

In the Floodplain Use Permitting Branch, you will collaborate with a team of professional engineers, engineering associates, and technicians to support various permitting tasks. Your responsibilities include conducting pre-application meetings to offer initial guidance, reviewing construction plans, issuing permits, and managing complex permit applications from beginning to end. Additionally, this role involves assisting in the review of Conditional Letters of Map Revision (CLOMR) and Letters of Map Revision (LOMR) before submitting them to FEMA. **About Us** Flood Control?
