Huawei Canada has an immediate 12-month contract opening for an Engineer. About the team: Welcome to the Advanced Wireless Technology Wireless Lab, an epitome of innovation located in Ottawa, Canada. Here, amid the dynamic panorama of technological progress, our team consists mainly of seasoned graduate computer engineers and computer scientists. With diverse experiences ranging from fresh perspectives to decades-long industry immersion, we are united by our fervour for pioneering wireless solutions. About the job: * Work on 6G network architecture design, focusing on aspects related to beyond connectivity services, e.g., AI, Computing, Data. * Participate in designing and developing solutions to 6G network management and optimization, in particular Agentic AI based solutions. * Leverage lab resources to develop and implement proof-of-concept demonstrations. * Work closely with team members to conduct research in one or more aspects of the projects. * Responsible for contributing to team’s deliverables and publish results in reputable venues. The total target annual compensation (based on 2,080 hours per year) ranges from $100,000 to $150,000 depending on education, experience, and demonstrated expertise. ## Requirements About the ideal candidate: * Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computing Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields. * Solid knowledge of wireless network architectures and AI including LLM. * Strong and demonstrated understanding of AI ecosystem and AI agents. * Background knowledge on wireless communications, networking, and network protocols. * Strong ability to research complex topics, and develop concrete and innovative solutions. * Strong software design and programming skills. * Work independently and have a strong teamwork spirit.
