What You'll Do.
Provides technical assistance to the physician and RN during the Endoscopic procedure under the supervision of the RN and ensures the Endoscopic suite is adequately prepared for the procedure.
Monitors PAR levels of the Endoscopy equipment and supplies and contributes to the safe and sterile endoscopy environment.
Cleans and sterilizes the Endoscopic scopes and equipment and completes other duties as assigned.
Assists the RN/Physician with proper positioning of the patient.
Ensures appropriate supplies are available for the physician.
Identifies supplies and equipment necessary to perform specific endoscopic procedures.
Tests equipment for proper functioning and availability prior to procedures
Performs skilled technical tasks under the supervision of the registered nurse or physician.
Participates in physician updates and notifies the physician/RN if there is an issue with aseptic technique during the procedure.
Order and restock supplies as needed
Demonstrates competence in proper handling
transporting and logging of specimens.
Handles endoscopes appropriately.
Demonstrates proper preparation and high-level disinfection of Endoscopes
