What You'll Do.
operating the soft capsule machines
monitor and maintain the quality of capsules produced
Confer with the operator from the previous shift during shift change
Ensure all setups are prepared for the incoming shift and change or clean machine parts as required based on the type of changeover
Spread capsules on trays
stack and label the trays
and transfer the stacks to the assigned drying tunnel
Inspect capsules for quality
and dimensions as required
and record all findings
repairs or issuing repair orders on soft capsule machines and related equipment
Ensure proper housekeeping including cleaning machines
handling scrap net and garbage’s
Assist with training of employees
Comply with all SOPs and GMPs and maintain all required operating records
May be asked to work extended hours (overtime)
especially when problems occur or when deadlines must be met
Perform other duties as required

Job Description **Encapsulation Operator** **Position Summary** * Work Schedule: 12 hour rotating continental shifts (Days and Nights) * This position is 100% on-site at the Windsor site. This position is located in Windsor, Ontario, one of two sites located in Canada offering softgel development and manufacturing capabilities for the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health industries. We have a broad range of integrated formulation, manufacturing, analytical and packaging services to offer full-service turnkey solutions. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Encapsulation Operator is a member of a two-person team responsible for operating the soft capsule machines. As a result of properly following the relevant SOP's, the Encapsulation Operator will also monitor and maintain the quality of capsules produced. **The Role** * Confer with the operator from the previous shift during shift change to discuss all necessary facts and current events related to the soft capsule machine’s operation. Ensure all setups are prepared for the incoming shift and change or clean machine parts as required based on the type of changeover. * Spread capsules on trays, stack and label the trays, and transfer the stacks to the assigned drying tunnel. Inspect capsules for quality, weight, proper seams, and dimensions as required, and record all findings. * Trouble shooting, correcting problems, repairs or issuing repair orders on soft capsule machines and related equipment. * Ensure proper housekeeping including cleaning machines, floors, tumblers, handling scrap net and garbage’s. * Assist with training of employees. * Comply with all SOPs and GMPs and maintain all required operating records. * May be asked to work extended hours (overtime), especially when problems occur or when deadlines must be met. * Perform other duties as required. **The Candidate** * High School Diploma, GED/CAEC and/or educational credential assessment (ECA) is required. * 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing
