Must Have
High school diploma or equivalent, Ability to stand for prolonged hours, Ability to kneel, Ability to work on the floor, Ability to lift up to 25 kg, Ability to support up to 40 kg with assistance, Ability to read, speak and hear sufficiently, Provide information in person & over the phone, Properly communicates information to all personnel
Nice to Have
Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT), Veterinary technician specialist (VTS) certification
What You'll Do.
Facilitate and manage workflow of nursing care team
Distribute workload to appropriately trained individuals
Deliver uncompromised standards of nursing care
Serve as a coordinator
Maintain overall picture of floor status
Promote a supportive atmosphere
Ensure quality of patient care
Ensure professional growth
Assume responsibility to maintain nursing care flow
Know treatments to be performed
Gauge workload based on staffing
Ensure all shift roles designated
Communicate changes needed to team
Fill roles where help is needed
Provide on-the-floor help as floater
Guide team to use downtime productively
Identify opportunities for training
Identify opportunities for projects
Identify opportunities for self-care
Facilitate shift start activities
Facilitate shift wrap up activities
Coordinate and contribute to team huddles
Set a positive and collaborative tone
Direct team member patient care questions
Direct team member patient care requests
Facilitate breaks for team members
Keep up-to-date on break status
Address interpersonal conflicts in the moment
Ensure conflicts do not affect workflow
Ensure conflicts do not affect patient care
Communicate with hospital leadership
Maintain integrity of standard policies
Work with team on communication of incidents
Determine when on-call staff needs to be utilized
Coordinate with doctor on shift
Arrange call-outs coverage
