Full Job Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon seeks an Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (EMI and EMC) Engineer to join the Antenna Team. As a Kuiper EMC/EMI engineer you will develop requirements, review designs and build test capability for complex payload subsystems for low-earth-orbit satellites. In this role you will influence decision makers on the process, procedures and necessary tests required to achieve EMI/EMC qualified hardware. You will execute tests and provide leadership for other engineers and technicians during test campaigns. The key responsibilities of the role are: • Define requirements for testing and qualifying subsystems • Perform analysis of radiated emissions and susceptibility (RE/RS) • Develop models for interference and shielding issues to mitigate and control emissions and susceptibility. • Work with electronic component design teams to communicate requirements related to electromagnetic environments such as shielding, grounding, bonding and isolation • Work with subsystem design owners on EMI related challenges • Define and coordinate EMI and EMC testing for a satellite and its subsystems • Coordinate requirements and validation with Launch Providers’ EMI and EMC teams. • Develop and maintain EMI/EMC test labs and equipment and support execution of EMI/EMC testing for a satellite and its subsystems • Identify emission and susceptibility non-conformance. Debug all failures to root-cause and provide manufacturable solutions. Export Control Requirement Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related fi
