5+ years’ experience with testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and installation of Fiber Optics, other Radio Control Systems (RCE) and other complex electronics equipment, Basic Microsoft suite and Internet, and E-mail, Must be able to meet customer security requirements, Must be able to travel up to 100% within the USA

Advanced electronics training from institutions such as junior college, military service, or trade school training, Maintains repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g. , radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling and industrial robotic devices, Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance

What You'll Do.

Assists with site preparation work for voice switches at Enroute Centers and Terminal TRACONs

Assists with Fiber Optics Terminal System (FOTS) installation at various sites throughout the USA

Assists with electronics installations

integration and testing for rehoming and monitoring the AFSS radios to the selected Enroute and Terminal Air Traffic

installs other Radio Control Equipment (RCE) such as VHF and UHF radio communication systems to transmit and receive radio messages

as well as electrical power conduit; control duct AC power racks for various FAA systems

Removes and repairs or replaces components

or otherwise installs/repairs various wire types including coaxial

Tests and trouble-shoots electrical components by applying the theory of operation of transistors

solid state components

and other electrical devices utilizing electrical schematics

and other technical data

and calibrates audio equipment and voice communication systems to the component level

general and system specific test equipment

and satellites in an unpredictable

fast paced environment in all weather conditions

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.8+ billion contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and certain reimbursable programs, the FAA NextGen Program, national security programs and aviation safety. Specifically, work includes site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories.
