What They're Looking For.
Must Have
solid understanding of electronics fundamentals, hands-on experience in hardware assembly and debugging, soldering, cabling/wiring/crimping, understanding electronics schematics, identifying issues and coming up with efficient solutions, comfortable with context-switching, handle multiple tasks efficiently, excellent organisational and communication skills, articulate complex ideas clearly, work collaboratively with engineers to refine designs, minimum of 2 years of comparable work experience
Nice to Have
engineering or technical degree, demonstrated ability to focus on outcomes and get things done, comfortable with you learning things as you go along
What You'll Do.
support mechatronics engineers
work closely with hardware and software engineering teams
develop and manufacture construction robots
own electronics assembly
build prototypes of construction robot hardware
maintenance of existing fleet of robots
troubleshooting of existing fleet of robots
root cause analysis of failure modes in existing fleet of robots
assembly and troubleshooting of electronic components and systems
implementing and improving procedures for electronic assembly and testing
managing inventory for electronic components and tools
suggesting improvements for robot production
assisting in the field tests of robotic systems
providing technical support and insights
maintaining current fleet of robots
performing occasional health checks on robots
ensuring robots are always in great state and ready to be used on site

Monumental http://monumental.co/ is automating on-site construction with robotics and software. Our mission is to make construction primarily software-defined and work towards a future where beautiful, bespoke buildings are built within a single day with minimal labour. We’re a growing team (about 100 team members) of mostly engineers and technicians, coming from companies like Palantir, Qualcomm, Dyson, Shopify, Tesla, Meta and 1X. It’s still the early days of building the company, and this is a unique opportunity to be an early employee in a high-growth, high-ambition startup environment.
