DEC III - Electronics Technology, 4 Years Related Experience, Ability to maintain, modify, design troubleshoot, and repair electronic and electrical equipment, laboratory instruments and appliances, Ability to use the following apparatus/equipment/tools: Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Bench power supply, Signal generator, Capacitance/Inductance meter, Soldering equipment (some surface mount), Hand tools, Must be service-oriented with the ability to take initiative, be resourceful, and assist users, Detail-oriented with organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, multitask, and solve problems, Excellent communication skills with ability to work with internal and external stakeholders, High level of proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook), Windows, Knowledge of English: Level #4 (qualifier)

Nice to Have

Experience in a teaching or research laboratory setting and knowledge of safety rules, Knowledge of Linux/ Python would be an asset

This involves keeping records and accounts up to date, and researching and planning maintenance, repairs, designs, and installations of laboratory instrumentation located throughout the Department of Chemistry and its McGill Chemistry Characterization (MC2) facilities. This position requires working on-site Monday to Friday. **Primary Responsibilities:** * Maintain equipment, keep records and files of work done. Perform repairs on all equipment and machinery or arranges for servicing. Purchase electrical components as required. * Assemble and install electronic devices. Develop, design and build electronic and electrical circuitry for installation.
