Full Job Description
At [CERN](http://home.cern), the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Introduction: Are you ready to work hands-on with advanced electrical and electronic systems at the forefront of science and technology? CERN’s [Electrical Power Converter Group](https://sy-dep.web.cern.ch/epc) is recruiting three electronics/electrical technicians to contribute to major modernisation, consolidation and infrastructure projects linked to CERN’s accelerator complex. You will work closely with engineers, technicians, industrial support teams and CERN’s central services in a highly collaborative and international environment. Functions: These positions offer the opportunity to work in different technical teams within the group, contributing to a wide range of activities including: * Installation, testing and commissioning of power converter systems. * Deployment and configuration of controls electronics and infrastructure. * Renovation and upgrade of converter control systems. * Development and validation of electronic and control interfaces. * Operational support, maintenance and troubleshooting in the field. Depending on your profile, skills and interests, you may join one of several specialised teams working on: * High-power converter installations for accelerator magnets. * Converter controls electronics and infrastructure deployment. * Modern Switch-mode converter and conventional thyristor systems. * Static Var Compensator (SVC) modernisation. * Configuration, controls integration and commissioning activities during CERN’s Long Shutdown 3 (LS3). As an Electronics/Electrical
