What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High school diploma or equivalent, 4 - 6 years of relevant experience, DC Journeyman Electrician License, Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot a simple electrical circuit
Nice to Have
Electrical Trade School Certificate, 5 - 8 years of relevant experience, Experience as a service and/or maintenance electrician, Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System
What You'll Do.
routine corrective maintenance
and emergency repairs on wiring
power distribution panels
electrical motors and various equipment such as motor control centers and variable frequency drives
and provide oversight and guidance to electrical and low voltage contractors ensuring National Electrical Code compliance standards are met
Perform technical review of project drawings and provide feedback and recommendations
and construction projects ensuring National Electrical Code compliance standards are met
and capture pictures and records notes for assigned work orders
Attend technical training to remain up to date with new equipment
code compliance and industry changes
Provide temporary power and/or onsite coverage for special events
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Trades technicians work independently and cooperatively with other Facility Management and University departments along with contract trade personnel; Occasionally functions as a team leader of a 2-to-5-member project team; Ability to successfully function in a diverse, team-oriented organization where employees actively support one another and customers
Communication Scope
Respond to emails; attend team meetings; capture pictures and records notes
