What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on the design of building power and lighting systems, Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering, understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable energy codes, including common design sections and the ability to efficiently locate relevant tables and requirements, Demonstrated ability to perform value engineering, including evaluating design alternatives and developing high-level construction cost estimates to meet client or owner budget objectives, Extensive knowledge of electrical, building, and energy code requirements, as well as key client and owner design standards, Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal teams

Nice to Have

Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit

What You'll Do.

Prepare and/or oversee complete electrical drawings for schematic design

and construction documents

Lead the electrical design effort and coordinate with other disciplines to define requirements for equipment power

Apply understanding of design standards and code requirements related to medium-voltage and utility systems

Develop creative and effective electrical design solutions

Evaluate alternative electrical distribution schemes based on cost

Prepare project labor hour and fee review

and develop project specifications

Perform feasibility studies for existing facilities and electrical systems

Support construction administration activities

including punch lists

and submittal reviews

Design and coordinate special electrical systems such as photovoltaics

emergency and standby power systems

Maintain a working knowledge of low-voltage and fire alarm systems
