ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team supporting the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) at their Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL)! This position is full-time and will be based out of Niskayuna, NY with 20% hybrid flexibility. Responsibilities - Work within a project team environment to support construction projects at the Knolls Site. - Develop and define project scope with sponsors. - Work with a project team to develop specifications, cost estimates, drawing reviews, and provide engineering support during construction phase for buildings and utility projects. - Oversee architectural engineering firms in developing concept designs, construction documents, and cost estimates. - Coordinate and interact with facility staff and contractors. Requirements - Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, 5 years of experience for Engineer II and 10+ years of experience for level III. - Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work. - Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed. - Experience performing electrical engineering tasks including the development of contract documents, calculations and cost estimates. - Working knowledge of building codes and standards. - Experience in construction administration (submittal review, RFI's, construction inspections, etc.). Desired Skills - EIT certificate and or P.E. License Engineering consulting experience. - Working knowledge of the NEC. About the Site The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is comprised of the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, located in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory located in Niskayuna, New York, the Kesselring Site, located in West Milton, New York, and the Naval Reactor Facility located in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
