The Electrical Engineer focuses on the design and engineering of power, lighting, grounding/bonding, special systems (e.g., telephone/data, security, fire alarm), raceway, cable tray, and other electrical control and building support systems into the built work environment. The individual possesses demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex tasks, establish priorities and direct the work of others. This position is responsible for overseeing the Electrical discipline scope of work and managing the discipline budget on small to medium projects of intermediate complexity, and coordinating with internal and external architects and engineers, as well as clients, construction managers, subcontractors, vendors and manufacturers. Typical tasks and deliverables include power load, illumination, short circuit and voltage drop calculations; basis of design reports; code evaluations; one-line diagrams; plans; schedules; installation details; specifications; and coordination with manufacturers and construction trade partners. Tasks will include utilizing software for building information modeling, computer-aided drafting and engineering calculations. Project work includes directing design activities for all levels of design such as studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration.
