What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or 5 years of experience in a construction safety position, Extensive working knowledge of OSHA regulations, standards, and other applicable codes/regulations, Ability to lead and manage a team of EHS personnel effectively, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Prior experience working within the heavy industrial construction industry, Proven ability to assess potential hazards and risks within divisional operations and develop and implement strategies to mitigate them effectively, Experience in incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis, Knowledge of emergency response plans and procedures, Ability to build relationships and collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization, as well as external stakeholders, Proficiency in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Nice to Have
MSHA Certification or background preferred, Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies such as Job Safety Analysis (JSA) or Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), Experience in conducting EHS audits or inspections, Certification in First Aid/CPR, Familiarity with EHS management software or systems, Competency of all items required for Site EHS Managers and EHS Coordinators
What You'll Do.
Coordinate and oversee EHS training programs
Assist in creating and performing new hire orientations
participate in and/or conduct daily safety meetings
Apply leadership skills to develop team member's hazard recognition skill
Complete proper documentation and storage for all training
and continuously improve field EHS coordinators
Implement company EHS policies and procedures
Implement and enforce safety protocols
Perform continual monitoring of job site and work habits
Lead the investigation of incidents
Ensure injured employees are provided appropriate care
Provide operational management with safety analytics
Establish a firm communication system between operations and H&S
Work closely with the operations team to facilitate safety culture
Interface with customer’s safety team
Conduct and document regular inspections
Promptly address issues
and implementation of corrective actions
Perform daily safety reports
Meticulously keep accurate records and ensure timely input
Assist EHS Management with data gathering
and creation of safety meeting topics
Ensure compliance with local
and federal safety regulations
Engage with regulatory agencies
participate in inspections
and facilitate audits
Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging safety technologies
Collaborate with Regional EHS Management to identify opportunities for enhancing safety measures
Provide feedback from the field to aid in process improvement
Analyze safety data and trends within the region
