Must Have

OSHA 30 required, Minimum 2 years prior experience working within the heavy industrial construction industry, Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, standards, and other applicable codes/regulations, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Ability to assess potential hazards and risks within operations and develop and implement strategies to mitigate them effectively, Ability to understand emergency response plans and procedures and ensuring readiness for potential emergencies, Ability to build relationships and collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization, as well as external stakeholders such as regulatory agencies and contractors, Proficiency in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting purposes, Ability to use safety management software for reporting and documentation requirements

Nice to Have

MSHA Certification or background preferred, Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies such as Job Safety Analysis (JSA) or Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), Experience in conducting safety audits or inspections, Certification in First Aid/CPR

What You'll Do.

Assist with safety training programs

Ensure employees have required industry specific training

Perform new hire orientations

Coordinate and participate in daily safety meetings

Apply leadership skills to develop hazard recognition

Document and store all training and education materials

Implement and enforce safety protocols

Perform continual monitoring of job site and work habits

Lead and/or participate in incident investigations

Ensure injured employees are provided appropriate care

Utilize KPA reporting

Work with operations and safety management team

Establish a firm communication system between site operations and H&S

Works closely with the site operations team

Enable and facilitate a setting where the entire organization is engaged

Acts to ensure safety team is a constructive partner

Interfaces with customer’s safety team

Closely align company systems with customer requirements

Conduct and document daily inspections and audits

Promptly address issues

Perform daily safety reports

Meticulously keep accurate records

Assist Safety Management with data gathering

Ensure compliance with local

and federal safety regulations

Engage with regulatory agencies

Stay informed about industry’s best practices

Collaborate with Site/Area Management to identify opportunities

Provide feedback from the field
