Full Job Description

Weekends Only: **Eligibility:** ECMO Coordinators in inpatient settings with 24/7 scheduling are included. 0.9 FTE would work two 12-hour shifts on the weekend and one additional shift during the week. **Compensation:** Team member will receive an additional $10 per hour plus their base pay. If the RN ECMO Coordinator is a full-time (3)12s a week team member, the stipend will apply to the two shifts on the weekend and not on the third weekday shift. This $10 per hour will be combined with shift differentials as well as other special codes. **Scheduling:** ECMO Coordinator will be required to work 48 out of 52 weekends per calendar year. Weekends are defined as Friday and Saturday night for night shift. Team member can request up to 48 hours of PTO on their weekend shifts as well as 48 hours of exchanging a weekend shift for a weekday shift, for a total of 96 hours ‘off’ of the weekend requirement. This would be given in accordance with unit guidelines with allotted PTO as well as peak times, etc. Team member may request 1 holiday off per calendar year that falls on the weekend. The Team member would only work the holiday if it fell on the weekend, they will not be moved off a weekend to work on a holiday. ## ## **About this unit:** The MCS/ECMO department (Mechanical Circulatory Support) is a small department, comprised of approximately 30 RN & RT staff. Our staff comes with a variety of experience from the neonatal, pediatric and (adult) cardiothoracic intensive care units. Team members are responsible for maintaining heart and lung support devices on the most critically ill patients. We support pre- and post-transplant (both heart & lung) patients, as well as post-cardiac arrest, pulmonary illness (COVID, influenza, RSV) and congenital heart defect patients. We currently have 27 full- and part-time staff in our department. When bringing new staff onto the team, we typically hold week-long classroom sessions which include introductions to ECMO equipment, physiology
