Simkiss Group, now part of United Infrastructure, is a leading engineering solutions provider operating across the energy, utilities and infrastructure sectors. With over 25 years of experience and headquartered in Rochdale, Simkiss specialises in the design and build of control systems, control panels and switchgear, delivering installation, testing, commissioning and ongoing maintenance services predominantly within the utilities sector. Following its recent acquisition by United Infrastructure, Simkiss is entering an exciting new phase of growth, strengthening its technical capabilities and expanding its ability to deliver increasingly complex, end-to-end solutions across critical national infrastructure projects. As an EC&I Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering assigned project tasks, conducting technical research, and producing high-quality engineering reports. You will interpret design requirements, apply engineering principles, and demonstrate initiative by developing innovative and practical solutions. You will utilise your technical knowledge to develop and interpret engineering drawings, data, and documentation in support of the design, installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, fault diagnosis, overhaul, and decommissioning of electrical and data systems within engineering infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of engineering systems, including: * Low Voltage (LV) Distribution Systems * Extra Low Voltage (ELV) Systems * Control and Automation Systems * Instrumentation and Monitoring Systems * Sensors and Transmitters * Auxiliary Electrical Systems The role requires proficiency in the use of both standard and specialist electrical equipment, machinery, hand tools, measuring instruments, diagnostic equipment, and computer-aided design (CAD) sof
