Full Job Description
Operate a residential recycling/waste collection vehicle in a safe, efficient, and customer-focused manner on assigned routes. The Residential Driver is responsible for waste/recycling collection, vehicle safety inspections, and maintaining high service standards while complying with all safety and regulatory requirements. ****Key Responsibilities:**** * Safely operate a Manual Side-Load _OR_ Rear Pack recycling collection truck on assigned residential routes. * Perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections and complete all required daily documentation * Collect residential recycling and waste in accordance with route and safety standards * Operate hydraulic and compaction systems using proper techniques to prevent equipment damage * Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or incidents immediately * Maintain route productivity, service quality, and customer service standards * Ensure compliance with all safety policies, PPE requirements, and traffic regulations * Maintain vehicle cleanliness and professional company representation * Work collaboratively with Helpers and Supervisors to support efficient operations * Perform other duties as assigned ****Key Requirements:**** * Valid Ontario DZ (or higher) driver’s licence with clean Abstract and CVOR * Minimum 1 year commercial driving experience (or accredited training) * Ability to safely operate collection vehicles and hydraulic equipment * Ability to meet safety-sensitive position requirements * Reliable attendance and flexibility for overtime/early start schedules ****Key Benefits:**** * Competitive hourly wages * Comprehensive employer-paid benefits * RRSP/DPSP matching program * Safe, modern shops with new equipment and tools * Career growth opportunities across GFL’s nationwide network * Employee Assistance Program (EAP) * “Green for Life” employee perks and recognition programs _We thank you for your interest.
