What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related degree, 5 plus years of experience in Land Development civil engineering including urban and dry utility system design as well as commercial and mixed-use development, Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Project management experience, including application and plan oversight, and permit procurement, Broad knowledge and experience with local regulations, guides, standards, codes methods, practices, and engineering principles, General knowledge of MDOT, DDOT and VDOT Right of Way requirements, Knowledge of Duke Energy, Dominion Energy, PSNC, Piedmont Natural Gas, Frontier Natural Gas, NC water and sewer utilities, cable service providers and their regulations and approval processes, Good understanding of construction practices related to dry utility installation and relocations

What You'll Do.
Perform all aspects of dry utility plan preparation and permit procurement
Manage all aspects of dry utility plan preparation and permit procurement
Prepare specifications
and budgets for dry utility systems
Oversee the permit process with local utilities
Provide consultation and recommendations regarding dry utility systems
and construction methods
Design portions of a project using relevant office software
modeling and Civil 3D technology
Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers
Prepare specification materials through research and manufacturing catalogs
Complete design details and plan sets related to dry utilities
Perform research and write objective summary reports
Assist in the preparation of engineer and construction cost estimates
Complete field observation
inspection and data collection duties
