Job’s mission As Director, Supplier Development at ASM, you will lead a strategic function focused on building and scaling supplier capabilities across critical commodities. This role will oversee the Advanced Materials and Machining pillars and partner closely with sourcing, engineering, and business units to ensure the right suppliers, processes, and controls are in place to support new product development and long-term growth. What you will be working on Lead Supplier Development for Advanced Materials and Machining, driving capability, scalability, and supplier readiness for critical categories. Manage and develop a team of ~6 supplier development engineers, providing clear direction, prioritization, and leadership. Partner with sourcing and business unit engineering teams to identify critical components and define supplier strategies for key parts and processes. Evaluate supplier technical capabilities, manufacturing processes, capacity, and growth plans to meet current and future demand. Drive a strategic, forward-looking supplier development approach focused on capability building and supplier selection (vs. tactical quality escalation).
