Must Have

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Human Resources, Business or related field, 10+ years of experience, 5+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development, Knowledge of labor employment law, Contract negotiations experience, Grievance resolution experience, Demonstrated experience in strategic thinking and planning, Demonstrated experience in problem solving, Demonstrated experience in decision making, Demonstrated experience in complex project management, Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization, Ability to professionally present information to top management, Reasoning skills, Math skills, Analytical skills, Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite software (word, excel, power point and outlook), Ability to navigate and research the Internet, SAP/HCM knowledge, Payroll database software knowledge, Specialized knowledge of HR systems, processes and procedures

Nice to Have

MBA, PHR or SPHR certification, Bi-lingual skills: Speak, read, write, address groups, individuals, conduct investigations, counseling, training, mentoring, using language other than English (as applicable to the business unit), Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment, Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building working relationships and a positive work environment

Lead all aspects of Human Resources at the site level

Guide and develop the HR team

Execute people strategies

Partner with site leadership

Identify workforce challenges

Provide insights and recommend HR solutions

Set clear HR objectives

and develop the facility HR team

Assign work and review performance

Mentor leaders and HR staff

Identify training and capability needs

Drive retention strategies

Build and sustain positive employee and union relationships

Resolve employee and labor relations issues

Counsel managers and employees on policies

Ensure compliance with labor and employment laws

Oversee policy and contract interpretation

Manage and execute the facility Affirmative Action Plan

Implement and align corporate HR policies

Manage employee benefits administration

Analyze workforce data and prepare reports

Promote a positive image of Smithfield

Foster a workplace culture
