Must Have
University degree in Finance, Economics or other relevant professional qualifications, at least 10 years of experience as an Investment Advisor or Discretionary Portfolio Manager/Specialist within private banks, wealth management or investment product industry, knowledge and experience in advising and promoting traditional and alternative investment discretionary mandates to HNWIs and UHNWIs, Well versed with multi-asset classes of investment products and familiar with global and regional markets, Solid portfolio advisory and portfolio as well as risk management knowledge, Sound knowledge of applicable regulatory and compliance requirements on discretionary investment products, appetite for selling and client facing exercises, investment presentation skills, Significant expertise in investment, markets, strategy and key products (fixed income, equities, structured products, ETF, funds, hedge funds), Proactive and hands-on attitude, Ability to operate independently, motivated and willing to deliver high quality

What You'll Do.
Prepare and implement discretionary investment strategies for clients
Develop bespoke discretionary investment solutions
Translate high level house views into individual class investment allocations
Attend client meetings to support acquisition of new discretionary prospects
Increase AUM of existing discretionary clients
Conduct portfolio reviews and suggest discretionary mandate adjustments
Support discretionary sales efforts
Generate discretionary ideas consistent with RBC research or approved research providers
Contribute to a sharing culture of investment knowledge and expertise
Maintain a high level of risk and compliance checks
Support promotion of full range of RBC products and solutions
Actively contribute towards the growth and retention of the Bank’s AUM
Adhere to Bank’s policies and procedures
Co-ordinate with different teams to enhance productivity and advance governance

**_Job Description_** **What is the opportunity?** As the Director, Senior Portfolio Specialist, you will prepare and implement discretionary investment strategies for clients, based on thorough analysis of their existing wealth, portfolios and their risk appetite, in accordance with relevant regulatory and compliance requirements. **What will you do?** * Work with Relationship Managers on discretionary accounts, and responsible for developing bespoke discretionary investment solutions by translating high level house views into individual class investment allocations in Cash, Fixed Income, Equity, and Non-Traditional Asset Classes. * Work alongside Relationship Managers to attend client meetings to support acquisition of new discretionary prospects, and increase AUM of existing discretionary clients. * Conduct portfolio reviews and suggest discretionary mandate adjustments that could help our client to achieve performances objectives or manage their risks better. * Support discretionary sales efforts from our sales and product specialists team during RFP, sales meetings or sessions with existing discretionary clients or partners. * Working with ISP team and within RBC internal policies to generate discretionary ideas consistent with RBC research or approved research providers. * Contribute to a sharing culture of investment knowledge and expertise with internal sales force. * Maintain a high level of risk and compliance checks on the different stages of the suitability process and the behavior of the discretionary portfolios. * Support promotion of full range of RBC products and solutions e.g. advisory mandate portfolios * Actively contribute towards the growth and retention of the Bank’s AUM. * Adhere to Bank’s policies and procedures thereby protecting the business from financial and reputational risk, by acting as a key escalating point in such cases. * Co-ordinate with different teams to enhance productivity and advance governance. **What do you need to succeed?
