We are seeking a Director, Product Innovation to join our team and help us achieve that mission. In this role, you will join the App & Web group to focus on bleeding-edge digital innovation with our partners in design, engineering, content and business to serve our fans. Our team’s portfolio includes products like the MLB App, MLB.com, 30 team websites, MiLB.com, MiLB’s Mobile App and more. Our ideal Director knows how to be self-led, but work in a larger organization to deliver success. Responsibilities Work directly with fans and different stakeholders to understand their needs and how we can solve for them Balance between product ideation and execution, with a “fail fast” mentality and flexibility as we pursue innovative experiences for our users Demonstrate excellent analytical skills to drive product experimentation Lead by example in creating a work environment where we lift each other up and push each other towards our collective success Balance between product ideation and execution, with a “fail fast” mentality and flexibility as we pursue innovative experiences for our users Keep a pulse on the sports, media, and entertainment best practices and trends, to create best-in-class products Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a product owner supporting one or more consumer-facing products A strong portfolio of shipped products that show a data-inspired strategy and analytics influenced decision making Experience in using data to create great customer experiences Have experience working with a major sports league or sports media An appreciation for baseball and a firm comprehension of its history, rules, and culture An eye for visual design, and basic Photoshop skills A rich understanding of software engineering ecosystem
