What You'll Do.

Plan Victim Services Unit work

Direct Victim Services Unit work

Supervise Victim Services Unit staff

Lead program growth and development

Ensure adequate staffing and resources

Direct staff workflow

Coordinate staff workflow

Serve on executive leadership team

Communicate with law enforcement partners

Communicate with court staff

Communicate with local agencies

Communicate with statewide agencies

Communicate with general public

Respond to requests for service

Respond to complaints

Maintain limited caseload of high priority cases

Contact victims of VRA crimes

Assist witnesses in preliminary hearings

Assist victims in preliminary hearings

Assist witnesses in motions hearings

Assist victims in motions hearings

Assist witnesses in jury trials

Assist victims in jury trials

Accompany victims to meetings

Liaise with District Attorneys

Explain legal system to victims

Explain legal procedures to victims

Provide referrals to victims

Maintain knowledge of VALE funds

Maintain knowledge of Mandated costs funds

Keep accurate records of expenses

Maintain knowledge of Victim's Compensation Fund Board process

Maintain knowledge of Victim's Compensation Fund Board procedure

Maintain knowledge of Victim's Compensation Fund Board standards

Attend in-house meetings

Attend out-of-workplace meetings

Attend related conferences

Monitor victim/witness rights legislation

Provide education on Victim Rights Amendment

Provide training on Victim Rights Amendment

Provide training on best practices for serving victims

Provide training on trauma informed approaches

Provide training on VRA to law enforcement

Provide training on VRA to Victim Advocate Program

Provide training on VRA to other agencies

Provide training on crime specific topics

Supervise Victim Service Manager

Supervise Victim Specialists

Supervise Restitution Coordinators

Supervise VALE/Crime Victim’s Compensation Coordinator

Supervise other services support staff

Review job performance of employees

Evaluate job performance of employees

Ensure staff engagement with VALE board

Ensure staff engagement with Victim’s Compensation board

Prepare presentations at civic organizations

Make presentations at social organizations

Promote awareness of crime victim services

Serve as District Attorney representative

Provide program services to other agencies

Identify relevant community organizations

Determine need for DA Office representative

Oversee Victim Witness Assistance Program administration

Ensure compliance with federal regulations

Ensure compliance with state regulations

Ensure compliance with local regulations

Communicate clearly and effectively
