What They're Looking For.
Must Have
10+ years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise in distributed systems, 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including managing managers and leading orgs responsible for critical production infrastructure at high-growth startup, hands-on understanding of large-scale distributed systems and cloud infrastructure, Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills, Exceptional judgment and decision-making skills, especially when balancing speed, quality, and long-term technical health, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with the open-source community, ownership comfortable operating with ambiguity and driving initiatives end-to-end, Ability to balance perfection with pragmatism and ship impactful solutions quickly
Nice to Have
Experience with Java, kubernetes, K8s, AWS, multi-region, multi-cloud is strongly preferred, Passion for building platforms that enable others and curiosity about emerging technologies—crypto, AI, and complex systems

Full Job Description
The Role As Director of Engineering, Infrastructure & Platform, you will own the vision, strategy, and execution of one of the most sophisticated, high-throughput distributed systems in the blockchain ecosystem. You’ll lead multiple teams responsible for the core platform that powers Alchemy’s products, where reliability, performance, and cost efficiency at massive scale are mission-critical. In this role, you will set the long-term technical direction for platform infrastructure, partner closely with Product and Executive Leadership, and ensure Alchemy continues to operate at the frontier of Web3 infrastructure. Your work will enable developers to move faster with confidence and help unlock blockchain adoption for the next billion users.
