Related post-secondary education, or a combination of education and experience, Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in government relations, public policy, or political environments, Proven leadership ability, Proven management and leadership role experience of 10+years, Proven ability/experience in the above noted responsibilities, Deep understanding of Alberta’s provincial government, agencies, and as well as municipal and federal experience, Demonstrated ability in translating complex policy and regulatory environments into clear recommendations, Demonstrated ability to advise senior executives and influence enterprise-level decision-making, Demonstrated ability to grow a team of talented individuals, presentation and written communication skills, Professional demeanor, effective communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes, Team player with the ability to work cross-functionally within and lead multi discipline teams including Finance, Legal, Regulatory, Operations, and Engineering, Proven track record of exceptional performance

Experience in the electricity sector is considered an asset, A deep understanding of Alberta’s electricity agencies, electricity development and regulatory processes, electricity policy, wholesale power markets in Alberta, regional interconnections, and transmission policy, planning, and cost recovery, considered an asset, Experience navigating regulated or infrastructure‑intensive sectors (utilities, energy, transportation, telecommunications), Electricity (generation or wires industry) experience considered an asset
