What They're Looking For.
Must Have
5+ years of experience in DevOps or DevSecOps engineering roles, Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud environments, experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar tools), Experience with containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker), Understanding of DevSecOps principles and secure software development practices, Experience with cloud networking, identity, and access management concepts, Experience working with Linux-based (Red Hat) systems, Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Familiarity with vulnerability management and secure configuration practices, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams, CompTIA Security+ certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
Nice to Have
Google Cloud certifications such as Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Experience with PostgreSQL, Memcached, Redis, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch, Familiarity with DevSecOps tools for security scanning and compliance automation, Experience with API management platforms or service integrations (Apigee preferred), Experience working in DoD or other regulated federal environments, Familiarity with RMF, NIST 800-53, or security compliance frameworks, Experience with STIGs and securing systems in classified or high-security environments

540 is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to support the DoW in building a next-generation Air Force aircraft maintenance platform. This platform leverages Kubernetes, Docker, Google Cloud, and Apigee. DevSecOps Engineers on this team architect and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure within a high compliance environment, with a primary focus on automation and security. This platform will modernize how Air Force maintainers plan and execute maintenance and is a key part of the Air Force’s technology strategy for the coming decade. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and platform services that enable reliable and compliant system delivery. You will work closely with engineers, architects, and cybersecurity stakeholders to integrate security throughout the development lifecycle and ensure systems are scalable, resilient, and secure within highly regulated, high-impact environments. Location: Remote within the continental United States Citizenship & Clearance Requirement: per client requirements, candidates must be a U. S.
