What They're Looking For.
Must Have
background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, Must be located in North America, Familiarity with AWS or other cloud environments through coursework, personal projects, or internships, Exposure to containers (Docker) and container orchestration concepts (Kubernetes), Coursework or project experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar), Foundational Linux/Unix knowledge (command line proficiency, basic system administration), Experience with at least one scripting or programming language (Shell, Python, or Golang), Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPCs, security groups), Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar), Experience using AI tools (e. g. , AI coding assistants, generative AI) to accelerate development or automate workflows, analytical skills, demonstrated desire for continuous learning, Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Nice to Have
Internship experience in a DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure role, Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, ELK), Exposure to security and compliance concepts or tooling (IAM, PKI, OPA, Checkov, or similar), Contributions to open-source projects, Exposure to on-call concepts, service monitoring, and SLI/SLO frameworks
