Full Job Description

About Modus We’re building the future of audit. Modus Audit is backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners to invest in and modernize accounting firms using Agentic AI. We streamline financial audits from the ground up — starting with real customers and real revenue. We've partnered with our first firm, and are rapidly growing our engineering team to help us build and deploy our agents at scale. We’re a small, execution-focused team. If you're excited by fast feedback loops, messy real-world data, and applied AI with business impact — we’d love to talk.   Why this role matters Modus runs on infrastructure that touches sensitive financial data across multiple customer firms. As we partner with more accounting firms, we need someone who can keep our production environment healthy day-to-day, rebuild legacy IT into something modern, and bring new firms onto our platform cleanly. You'll work closely with the head of engineering, and we're looking for someone who can grow into a DevOps leader at Modus - owning more of the design and architecture over time as the team and platform scale.   What you'll do - Day-to-day infrastructure - operating our multi-tenant deployments, monitoring, deploys, incident response, and the work it takes to keep production boring - Rebuilding CPA IT from the ground up - one modern IT platform that every Modus firm shares. Identity, endpoints, networking, file storage — scalable, standardized, and smart, so every firm we acquire plugs into the same system instead of inheriting a legacy stack - Integrating newly acquired firms - onboarding each new firm onto Modus's platform, migrating users and data, and making sure compliance and security are tight from day one - Supporting engineering with deploys, CI/CD, observability, and the daily plumbing of a fast-moving team   What we look for - Solid experience operating AWS infrastructure in production — VPCs, IAM, EC2/ECS/EKS, RDS, the usual - Comfortable with Terraform (or equivalent IaC), Linux, and scr
