What They're Looking For.
Must Have
DevOps / CI/CD experience (Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions/Workflows), pipeline design, YAML configuration, deployment automation, containerization and Kubernetes (AKS preferred), helm, troubleshooting using kubectl, Linux administration experience (support, troubleshooting, CLI-based operations), understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred), general infrastructure fundamentals (compute, networking, storage), problem-solving mindset with ownership mentality (proactive, not ticket-driven), different troubleshooting levels
Nice to Have
DevSecOps practices (e.g., static analysis, container/image scanning in pipelines), infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform or equivalent), automation/orchestration tools (e.g., Harness or similar platforms), Prior application development experience (.NET, JavaScript/TypeScript beneficial), AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, workflow automation tools), supporting application platforms or DevOps pipelines in enterprise environments
