What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification, 3–5 years’ engineering experience, ideally in civil, mechanical, or water/wastewater infrastructure, Experience with asset management, development processes, or construction oversight, Confidence interpreting engineering designs, standards, and technical data, Commercial awareness
Nice to Have
Ideally in civil, mechanical, or water/wastewater infrastructure
What You'll Do.
Providing technical support and advice for new development enquiries
Peer-reviewing resource consent applications and confirming network capacity
Reviewing and approving Engineering Plan Approval (EPA) designs
Ensuring assets constructed by third parties meet Watercare’s Code of Practice
Assessing and approving new water and wastewater connections (including commercial and fire-supply connections)
Confirming backflow protection requirements and meter sizing
Managing asset acceptance documentation and compliance certificates
