Must Have
Degree or Diploma in Instrumentation/Control Systems, 5-10 years of instrumentation design/Engineering experience in the Oil and Gas Industry, Expertise using Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI), Knowledge of 2D/3D design/drafting, Understanding of Oil sands Safety acts, regulations and codes, Understanding and familiarity of API, ASME, CSA and ISA codes and directives
Nice to Have
Site experience in construction or commissioning of plant Instrumentation and Control Systems for Alberta Oil and Gas facilities, Registration or eligibility for registration through ASET as a C. E. T. /P. Tech or APEGA as a P. ENG/P. L. (ENG)

Quality checking design
Design guidance for CADD
Prepare Instrument Loop diagrams
Design Control Systems cabinets
Participate in design reviews
Participate in HAZOPs
Prepare installation details
Prepare Instrument location plans
Perform instrument selection
Perform instrument specification
Perform device sizing calculations
Develop instrumentation deliverables in SPI
Develop Auxiliary P&IDs
Prepare Instrument data sheets in SPI
Review project documents
Develop Material Requisitions
Complete Technical Bid Evaluations
Develop Control Narratives
Develop Cause and Effect diagrams
Support estimates for engineering work
Review vendor documents
Approve vendor documents
Approve mechanical equipment packages
Provide field support
Assist technical support
Interface with engineering disciplines
Interface with suppliers

Team & Collaboration
Interfacing with various engineering disciplines; Interfacing with suppliers; Interfacing with other areas of the company; Working under guidance of Automation Project Discipline Lead; Providing field support to on-site personnel; Providing field support to construction management team; Assisting technical support to engineering groups at site
