What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Fluent in Taiwanese, Mandarin, and English (speaking, reading, writing), 3-5+ years of defense, national security, military operations, or a related technical field, Proven ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous, high-stakes environments with minimal supervision, Highly organized with demonstrated project management skills and attention to detail, Experience working directly with foreign military partners or in an international defense cooperation context, interpersonal skills with proven ability to build trust across cultures and organizations, Experience translating technical concepts into operational requirements or vice versa, Willingness to be based in Taiwan full-time, Ability to travel both internationally and domestically (~35-50%) required
Nice to Have
Prior US military experience, particularly in special operations, naval operations, or defense advisory roles, Ability to travel to Taiwan without visa restrictions preferred, Experience living and working in Taiwan or the broader Indo-Pacific region, Familiarity with US export control regulations (ITAR/EAR) and international defense trade processes, Technical background in maritime systems, undersea warfare, sensors, autonomy, or related domains, Experience with US military installation operations and procedures, Understanding of Taiwanese defense procurement processes and military culture, Prior experience in a fast-paced technology company or startup environment
