**POSITION SUMMARY:** Assists in patient treatment with Dentist and assists the Dental Department with patient flow, sterilization and asepsis of equipment, dental outside lab procedures; maintains appropriate inventory levels and performs dental x-rays. Educated and expected to competently care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient (age 3 – 100 +). Must be certified to take radiographs /graduate of an approved dental assistant program. **Position:** Dental Assistant**** **Department:** Dental Clinic **Schedule:** Full time **JOB REQUIREMENTS** **EDUCATION:** * Minimum of a High School diploma or GED is required. * Graduate of a certified dental assistant program (or equivalent, such as 1 year experience in a dental office doing chair side or completion of Armed Forces training) is also required. **CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED** : * Must be certified in radiographs /or graduate of a certified dental program in order to perform x-rays. **KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:** * Knowledge of oral hygiene and dental assistance functions. * Excellent manual dexterity, and ability to perform detailed and accurate work. * Excellent interpersonal skills that demonstrate concern and caring attitude towards patients, family members and staff. * Basic computer proficiency inclusive of ability to enter and access data/information. **Compensation Range:** $21.39- $30.05 This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications.
