Full Job Description
Operate a commercial truck in the company fleet and provide safe, timely, and quality deliveries. Follow company policies, procedures, and DOT regulations in execution of duties. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS** Responsible for the safe operation of any company vehicle and keeping the inside of the vehicle clean. Run routes as designed by the company including the order of stops, direction of route, and roads used. Run routes in a reasonable amount of time, according to set guidelines. Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as published in FMCSA regulations 396.11 and O'Reilly policy and keep track of Hours of Service (HOS) by utilizing the company telematics and/or paper logs as instructed in part 395 of the Federal Motor Carrier Regulations. Deliver all merchandise on the truck to the proper location according to the freight bill and the freight bill and store location sticker should be checked to ensure proper delivery. Verify all manifested returns and return them to the DC. Responsible for securing the load, all doors, and alarms before and after each stop. Run any route as needed or required by supervisor. Team members with experience may be designated as trainers. As a trainer, take ownership of the DC target training program ensuring that all training is conducted according to schedule, and that all documentation is complete. Explain specific job duties and functions to help ensure the success of new team members, as well as to convey any departmental or procedural changes to existing team members.
