Full Job Description
## JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient database schemas, models, and architectures aligned with business and application requirements. Write, review, and optimize complex SQL queries and PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages to support application functionality. Monitor and tune database performance; identify bottlenecks and implement indexing strategies, query optimizations, and caching solutions. Implement and enforce database security best practices, including access controls, encryption, auditing, and data masking to protect sensitive information. Plan and execute database backup strategies and disaster recovery operations to ensure business continuity and minimal downtime. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues including data inconsistencies, connectivity problems, deadlocks, and performance degradation. Collaborate with application developers, architects, and business analysts to understand requirements and provide database solutions that meet functional and non-functional goals. Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patch management in coordination with the infrastructure and DevOps teams. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for database designs, procedures, configurations, and operational runbooks. Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to database development standards, best practices, and organizational policies. ## BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience. 3+ years of hands-on experience in database development, administration, or a closely related role. Strong proficiency in SQL with demonstrated ability to write complex queries, joins, subqueries, and analytical functions.
