Full Job Description
## Accountabilities Administer, monitor, and support Microsoft SQL Server environments across production, staging, and development systems. Ensure database availability, performance, security, and operational stability for business-critical applications. Troubleshoot and resolve database issues including performance degradation, blocking, deadlocks, connectivity issues, and job failures. Manage database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, index optimization, integrity checks, and statistics updates. Support Always On Availability Groups, replication, and high availability/disaster recovery configurations. Manage database access using role-based access control and Active Directory, ensuring least-privilege enforcement. Monitor database health using enterprise tools and proactively address performance or capacity issues. Participate in incident management, change requests, patching cycles, and on-call rotational support. Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams during incidents, deployments, and audits. Maintain accurate technical documentation and support root cause analysis for production issues. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 2–5 years of experience in database administration or production support environments. Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022). Experience with SQL Server Agent jobs, monitoring tools, alerts, and maintenance activities. Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies, performance tuning, and troubleshooting techniques. Familiarity with Always On Availability Groups, replication, and high availability concepts. Understanding of transaction management, locking/blocking, and query performance optimization. Experience working in ITIL-based environments with incident, change, and release management processes.
