As NASA’s largest engineering solutions provider working together with NASA at centers across the United States.  Amentum seeks to fill a Data Science Intern position within the JETS II Science and Exploration Department with University of Nevada Las Vegas, a subcontractor company. This candidate must reside or be willing to relocate to Houston, TX for on-site work requirements at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. The approximate dates for this internship are May 16 – August 14, 2026.   This is a temporary role not to exceed 14 weeks. The Data Science Intern will: Work with computer scientists and engineers to develop models to calculate risk analysis Support work that applies risk-bounded planning for human planetary exploration Develop code that supports concept development for robotic and human exploration on the Moon or Mars Utilize machine learning, artificial intelligence, autonomy research, coding, and data science skills Requisition Qualifications: This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.  Intern pursuing BS degree Requisition Preferences:  Graduate student (MS or PhD)  in a STEM field Graduate student (MS or PhD) in  computer science, AI, sof
