Full Job Description
Are you passionate about data? Does the prospect of dealing with massive volumes of data excite you? Do you want to create the next-generation tools for intuitive data access? Are you interested in creating the most innovative Legal department in the world, solving unique operational challenges no other company has tackled? Operating at Amazon's scale demands intelligent systems, and a business operations mindset, to wrangle the tens of thousands of incoming legal requests and claims with increasing efficiency as Amazon grows. In this role, you will sit with the Legal Enterprise Risk team, and work with paralegals, business analysts, Legal technologists, economists, lawyers and global business leaders to operationalize the production of legal work and reduce risk for Amazon. You'll enjoy deep diving into things to see how they work, improving on what works, discarding what doesn't, and learning from both. You should be passionate about technology and solving high-impact, ambiguous, business problems in the legal space. You will also leverage and apply advanced AI tools and techniques to automate and scale data tasks, driving efficiency and innovation across the team's workflows. As a Data Engineer, you should be an expert with data lake fundamentals around storage, compute, etc., familiar with multiple data processing stacks like Spark, Presto/Trino, and core data concepts (e.g. Data Modeling and Reporting). You should have deep understanding of the architecture for enterprise level data lake/mesh solutions using NAWS stack or other cloud stacks. You should be an expert in the design, creation, management, and business use of large data-sets. The candidate is expected to be able to build efficient, flexible, extensible, and scalable ETL and reporting solutions. You should be enthusiastic about learning new technologies and be able to implement solutions using them to provide new functionality to the users or to scale the existing platform.
