What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience), SQL skills and experience building analytics datasets in a modern cloud data warehouse (Snowflake preferred), Hands-on experience with dbt core (model development, tests, documentation, macros, deployments), Solid foundation in data modeling (dimensional/Kimball concepts, facts/dimensions, grain, slowly changing dimensions), Experience defining and managing metrics: translating business logic into consistent KPI definitions, documenting edge cases, and maintaining metric governance over time, 1+ years of experience delivering production-grade analytics models/marts or BI-ready datasets (internships/co-ops may be considered depending on leveling), Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical communication and documentation skills, A self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with the ability to tackle and solve intricate technical challenges and deliver high-quality work

Nice to Have

Experience in healthcare, PBM, insurance, or other regulated data environments, Deep familiarity with Snowflake and experience supporting multiple warehouses or databases as environments evolve (e. g. , Redshift and/or Postgres), Familiarity with semantic/metrics layer patterns and practices (e. g. , consistent metric definitions, metric governance, semantic modeling approaches) and enabling KPI consumption across BI tools, Experience with CI/CD for analytics (automated tests, PR checks, environment promotion) and data observability/monitoring practices, Working knowledge of Python for data tooling or analytics enablement (e. g. , automation, validation checks), and comfort collaborating with orchestration/workflow tools when needed

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Data Engineer I (Analytics Engineering) to help build and scale Capital Rx’s analytics foundation. This role focuses on developing high-quality, analytics-ready datasets and a consistent metrics/semantic layer that power reporting, self-service BI, and operational insights. You will work heavily in dbt and Snowflake to design durable data models, define trusted business metrics, and ensure data quality through testing, documentation, and observability—partnering closely with operational, product, and analytics stakeholders to translate business questions into reusable data products that drive measurable outcomes.
