What You'll Do.

Assist radiologists during special invasive and non-invasive radiographic

Perform diverse diagnostic radiology work on patients

Prepare and calibrate equipment for procedures

Assist Radiologists during special procedure studies

Perform computerized tomography (CT) scans

Operate sophisticated electronic equipment during exams

Administer or assist in administration of contrast media

Work as Radiologic Technologist in other radiology sections

Operate all equipment properly and with care

Perform maintenance and quality control work

Report equipment malfunctions

Perform first aid as required

Assist in cases of adverse reaction to contrast

Observe and practice sterile technique

Prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases

Maintain cleanliness of procedure rooms and equipment

Maintain accurate documentation of patient and file information

Maintain appropriate supply levels

Oversee on the job training for student technologists

Oversee on the job training for non-professional assistants

Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served. As of 8/14/2022: Associate's degree from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology Registered ARRT (R ) upon hire must receive ARRT CT certification within 15 months from hire date. Registered ARRT (NM) or NMTCB must receive ARRT CT certification within 15 months from hire date. Advanced certification in CT needs to be attempted to be completed at 12 months, and completed at no longer than 15 months from date of employment. Successful completion of requirements for orientation which include Hospital, Core, and Department specific orientation.
